This position is part of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Dual Credit Coordinator you will be responsible for developing and updating dual credit plans and programming to align with SIPI program goals and participating in recruitment activities.

Duties

As a Dual Credit Coordinator GS-1701-9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision: Develop and update dual credit plans and programming to align with SIPI program goals. Participate in outreach for the recruitment of high school students to enroll in courses at SIPI and assist with enrolling and registering for courses in coordination with relevant academic programs and requirements. Serve as a liaison between partnering school site administrators and SIPI's administrators to coordinate the scheduling of dual enrollment course offerings. Coordinate efforts with various campus departments to guide, assist, monitor, and ensure seamless scheduling, enrollment, registration, and continuous support for dual-enrolled students. Provide organization support to division by maintaining and tracking information and maintaining dual enrollment records for each dual enrollment course and instructor.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications requirements below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. GS-9: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Examples include: perform duties in support of a dual credit program and serve as a contact person for dual credit program information and questions; coordinating the admissions process and registration of dual credit students; participating in outreach activities for a dual credit program; and creating dual credit packets and materials for distribution. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree. Completion of graduate level education is qualifying if it provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR A combination of specialized experience as described above and more than one year of progressively higher level graduate education. When combining education with experience, first determine the total qualifying education as a percentage of education required for the grade level; then determine the experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; finally, add the two percentages. Total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for the grade level. GS-11: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Examples include: coordinating the development, expansion, and administration of a dual credit program; developing dual credit agreements with colleges and high schools; working independently and cooperatively with admissions, instructors and recruitment staff to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies; visiting area high schools to meet with counselors, students, and parents about dual credit programs. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree. Completion of graduate level education is qualifying if it provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR A combination of specialized experience as described above and more than two years of progressively higher level graduate education. When combining education with experience, first determine the total qualifying education as a percentage of education required for the grade level; then determine the experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; finally, add the two percentages. Total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for the grade level. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level.

Education

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
