The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Whole Health Clinical Director. The Director will ensure that instructions and or training in the performance of assigned duties are provided, particularly for those duties that are new, unfamiliar, and relatively complex. The incumbent independently plans, organizes, coordinates and completes the work, keeping the supervisor apprised of controversial issues. The employee resolves most problematic issues that arise.

Duties

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Assembling a diverse planning team of interdisciplinary health professionals and representatives from various services within the medical center including labor partners. Working with the committees to develop a charter, goals, and strategic plans for the Employee Whole Health program, and ensures the plans are updated annually. Conducting needs assessment(s) of employees to determine program needs and interests. Developing core program components based on assessment results. Developing and delivering classes, seminars, workshops, etc. on various Employee Whole Health topics including but not limited to nutrition, physical activity, and mental health topics or works to identify and collaborates with relevant subject matter experts. Developing training materials for staff educational needs. Implementing use of available individual health assessments to determine employee well-being strengths and opportunities (i.e., Personal Health Inventory (PHI), Healthy Living Assessment (HLA)), and tracks employee improvement and goal attainment as appropriate. Modeling healthy behavior and provides support and encouragement to employees as it relates to behavior change. Promoting the Employee Whole Health program to all employees on all shifts throughout the medical center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). Writing proposals for annual funding opportunities as made available by the national Employee Whole Health program office. Maintaining and updating local policies and procedures related to Employee Whole Health. Managing program budget and is the fund control point official for the Employee Whole Health program. Responsible for the purchase of a variety of products, materials, and goods used in the promotion and administration of Employee Whole Health activities. Promoting the model of whole health for Employees, including increasing opportunities to engage in self-care activities Educates leaders in well-being culture and behaviors which can support a culture of well-being Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/25/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:GS-09: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience may include: reviewing supporting material to determine compliance with regulations and policy requirements; assists in planning and implementing program(s) within a medical center setting; using creativity to engage employees and community partners in a newly developed program; developing training materials for staff educational needs; and experience using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of education and experience that provided you with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:Budget AdministrationComplianceCustomer ServiceProject Management Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary involving sitting at a desk, although the position requires the ability to move form one geographic location of the facility to another. Some physical effort such as standing, walking, bending or prolonged sitting may be required. The work places no special physical demands on the employee.
