About the Position: Serve as the Executive Assistant and advisor to the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-6(DCS, G-6) 3 Star General Officer, and Deputy G-6 (Senior Executive Service (SES) civilian). Functions independently within a broad framework of established policy and regulatory guidance. Provides support for all Executive Office administrative operations to the ODCS G-6 staff. Position is located in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Provide technical assistance to the staff in review and maintenance of calendars, human resources and manpower documents, office supply requisition and assistance to organization.
Perform at an executive level providing support to a Lieutenant General and Senior Executive Service (SES) civilian.
Maintain Executive Conference Room Calendar, assisting with the set-up, coordination and preparation of all DCS, G-6 and subordinate offices meeting and Video teleconference requirements.
Serve as the liaison on matters of personnel actions.
Keep the DCS G-6 informed of any changes in personnel and administrative policies.
Establish new procedures and practices to be used by subordinate directorates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

This is a Term Appointment NTE -
This position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 3 years.
Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years.
With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of administrative management and technical support duties such as maintaining calendars, advising on civilian and military personnel management, contractor oversight, coordinating travel, and supply management; advising management on military and civilian personnel regulations; arranging for official social engagements events (e.g. selection of location, invite preparation, etc.; advising on proper protocol procedural requirements and instructions necessary when dealing with executive level personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
