Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as recommending and implementing travel related guidelines or policies; and analyzing programmatic information to make recommendations to senior level management officials.
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as developing and implementing travel related guidelines or polices; analyzing financial regulations related to travel; and providing solutions on travel related issues.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of principles, concepts, laws, and regulations of travel; 2) Skill in oral communication sufficient to provide advice; 3) Skill in quantitative and qualitative analysis; 4) Ability to collaborate with program stakeholders; 5) Ability to advise on financial travel oversight, budget formulation, and/or budget execution; 6) Skill in project management; 7) Skill in written communication sufficient to provide recommendations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
