This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Colorado River Agency in Poston, Arizona. Recruitment incentive may be authorized at Managements discretion, a Service Agreement will be required for approved incentives.

Duties

Provide expert diagnosis and repair of heavy equipment such as a Dozer, Excavators, Loaders and Motor Graders. Primary expert to determine the extent of repairs and perform needed repairs. Ability to maintain records of maintenance of all equipment. Compliance with the purchasing of parts per federal regulations.

  • Drug Testing. This position is subject to both pre-employment and random drug testing as a condition of employment. Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test is received.
  • Must possess and maintain a Class B or Better Commercial Driver's License.
  • This position requires a medical examination prior to employment.
  • Indian Affairs has determined that the duties of the position are not suitable for telework.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE: Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must meet any screen-out element(s) listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills and/or competencies in the following areas: Ability to do the work of a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, WG-5803, without more than normal supervision (SCREEN-OUT) Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc Use of test and measuring instruments Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc Troubleshooting If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN-OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
