What will I do in this position if hired? In this Environmental Protection Specialist position, you will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist within the Region 9 Mitigation Division, advising the Regional Environmental Officer on how to avoid or minimize adverse impacts to cultural resources and comply with environmental planning and historic preservation responsibilities, specifically with respect to Native American cultural resources. To qualify for this Environmental Protection Specialist position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Working with stakeholders and assisting in cultural resource surveys to identify, evaluate, and mitigate adverse effects to historic properties; Reviewing documentation to ensure compliance with applicable environmental and historic preservation laws and regulations; and Developing deliverables such as detailed reports, presentations, and agreement documents. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related OR Combination of education and experience.
