About the Position: The incumbent manages the administrative and clerical functions of the assigned Area Office and resolves associated problems and issues.
1 Vacancy will be filled for the Vidalia, Louisiana location and 1 Vacancy will be filled for the Greenwood, Mississippi location
Duties
Uses a computer to perform a wide range of word processing functions and preparation of analytical reports.
Receives and reviews mail (both hard copy and electronic) for the Area Office.
Ensures that all administrative guidance is properly implemented and personally carries out broad range of administrative actions such as workload and paper flow analyses.
Performs primary timekeeper duties for the Area Office and for the subordinate field offices located remotely from the Area Office.
Requirements

- A qualified typist is required.

GS-05:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1). Preforming basic administrative and clerical functions including receiving and directing calls, greeting visitors, typing and filing of documents. 2)Performing limited timekeeper duties such as completing biweekly time and attendance and weekly labor report, and reconciling employee leave and overtime requests. AND 3). Maintaining a wide range of administrative software related experience for word processing, file and database execution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
GS-06:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1). Maintaining high proficiency of contract management systems and using wide range of administrative type software, prepares correspondence, reports and miscellaneous documents, conforming to established policy and procedure. 2). Using appropriate Records Information Management System to independently assure conformance to and establish operating procedures for a variety of administrative functions, including suspense system, file system, reference materials, and planning calendar. AND 3). Providing administrative and technical support for office personnel as payroll specialist, through use of applicable financial management software, resolves pay problems and discrepancies; tracks labor code balances; and prepares vehicle reports, travel and training request, IT and user access, and associated actions and documentation.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
