About the position: This position will be assigned to the McBride Commons Arts and Crafts Center on Keesler AFB.
This is a Regular Part Time position with benefits. Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Retirement and 401K. Guaranteed 20 hours but could work up to 40 hours per week.
Duties
A&C Programmer is responsible to the A&C Manager for program planning, development, scheduling, delivery, analysis and budgeting a year-round calendar of arts and crafts classes and events. Responsible for the development of and providing diversified and comprehensive cultural, educational, and recreational arts and crafts programs/classes. Recruits and negotiates personal service contracts with versatile and experienced instructors for a variety of arts and crafts classes, workshops and lectures in concert with RM Contract Manager. Responsible for training of program staff and volunteers. Coordinates programs and reimbursements for specially funded programs to include but not limited to R4R, Unite, Military and Family Readiness, other MWR agencies. Works with the A&C Manager and Marketing to formulate a marketing plan, develops an annual calendar of classes/events and creates articles for all A&C activities. Coordinates the details of recurring and non-recurring activities, special events for all A&C activities. Publicizes activities/events. Teaches/instructs programs/classes as needed. Provides individual(s) and group classroom instruction to center participants, schedules, registers students, hands out material and equipment. Assists the Arts & Crafts Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Arts & Crafts Center. Arts & Crafts Center (A&C) Programmer will work in the following areas as needed: Frame, Engraving, Sublimation, Embroidery, Vinyl, and Auto. Ensures opening and closing procedures are followed. Interfaces with customers and A&C activities to create one of a kind project, coordinates/checks the production and progress of projects with team members to meet customer suspense. Answers inquires, prepares reports required monthly for all activities within A&C. Maintains perpetual control of all inventory items using pre-established procedures and methods. Purchases required equipment, supplies, and resale items utilizing the NAF GPC and established BPAs. Reviews financial records to ensure proper procedures were followed for the purchases of resale items and equipment utilizing the NAF GPC and or established BPAs. May be required to perform Cashier duties. Inputs daily financial paperwork and maintains Point-of-Sale system. Maintains order in the facility and good housekeeping rules and regulations. Work schedule is varied, and some evening classes and some weekends events are included as a normal part of work schedule. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience, knowledge or education and skill in applying and adapting knowledge in conducting cultural, educational, recreation activities, and arts and crafts. Ability to perform as an artist, demonstrate methods and techniques and teach one or more art forms. Knowledge and skill in developing and program budget for a large variety of Art & Crafts activities. Knowledge of equipment and replacement as required for a variety of programs. Ability to do simple math addition, subtraction, division and multiplication and to figure percentage mark up for resale items. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to read, write, communicate clearly and accurately in English. Ability to prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines with no errors
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
