Duties

Perform a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures. Set up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages; replenishes as necessary. Serve food by order and proper proportion. Break down and clean tables and area when meal is finished and return dishes and food to the kitchen area. Brew coffee according to the number of servings required. Make cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients. Operate, break down, and clean all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation.

• Must attend Team Member Orientation within the first 30 days of employment.
• This is a flexible position. Flexible positions have no guaranteed hours. A flexible employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
• Must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry moderate objects up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Ability to understand and follow simple instructions and be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines. Best Qualified will meet 2 of the following 3 criteria: (1) Applicant has at least one (1) year of experience in the next lowest level within a DFMWR Food Service Operation or comparable commercial facility (Such as Chili's, Outback Steakhouse, Olive Garden). (2) Applicant has at least six (6) months of experience working in a DFMWR Restaurant / Bar or comparable commercial facility. (3) Applicant has a current ServSafe Food Handler Certification. **Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications and best qualifying criteria will be referred to the selecting official first. **
