GS-09: $68,405 (Step 01) to $88,926 (Step 10)
GS-11: $82,764 (Step 01) to $107,590 (Step 10);
NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.

As a Staff Assistant within the Office of the Director, some of your specific duties will include:
Qualifications
For GS-09:
Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-9 level:
One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-7 level work include assisting with coordinating and scheduling meetings, managing executives calendars, records and data management, arranging travel and filing travel vouchers, and submitting requests/work orders utilizing computers and office automation programs (such as word processing, spreadsheets, etc.); accurately preparing timecards for submission and processing; managing purchase card consistent with procedures; and performing executive support functions.
**OR applicants may substitute successful completion of 2 years of progressively higher level, directly related, graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B or J.D). (36 semester hours, 54 quarter hours, or the equivalent).
**OR a combination of appropriate specialized experience (as described above) and graduate education (as described above) that is beyond the first year of progressive graduate study to meet the qualification requirements.
For GS-11:
Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-11 level: One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-9 level work may include: Conduct reviews of activities related to travel vouchers, purchase card/credit cards, timekeeping and travel. Submits and responds to related inquires consistent with policy. Prioritize, coordinates and manages the executives' calendars, scheduling meetings and preparing agendas and materials for meetings. Reviews and advises on documents submitted for the executives' approval to ensure accuracy and clarity of intent. Draft and maintain correspondence, documents and records management, safeguarding and maintaining sensitive material. Conduct searches, collect, assemble, and summarize administrative data and informational materials. Proficient in utilizing computer and office automation Software programs in day-to-day tasks
**OR applicants may substitute successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.M, if related). (54 semester hours, 81 quarter hours, or the equivalent).
**OR a combination of appropriate specialized experience (as described above) and graduate education (as described above) that is beyond the second year of progressive graduate study to meet the qualification requirements.
