About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation's Family Camp at Barksdale AFB, LA .
This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave.
Duties
Introductory Statement: The primary purpose of this position is to perform supervisory duties in the operation of Outdoor Recreation Family Camp.
Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, develops and supervises the operation of the Barksdale AFB Fam Camp and is subject to installation policies, agency regulations and applicable federal and state laws. Maintains a twenty (20) acre recreation complex which includes but not limited to: sixty-two (62) recreational vehicle sites, ten (10) overflow parking sites, two (2) acre camping area, two-five (2-5) acre parks (Clear Lake and Cullen Park), eighteen (18) recreational trailer units and five (5) acres of storage facility. Responsible for playgrounds, horseshoe area, laundry, office facilities, and equipment in excess of $50K. Responsible for inventory levels, condition of equipment, supplies and resale merchandise. Works closely with ground safety official to inspect facility and ensure hazards are removed and/or corrected. Conducts inspections on parks, vehicle/parking sites, and recreation areas ensuring cleanliness and patrons are following the established policies, procedures and safety protocols when using the facilities. In addition, checks ID's, re-sites campers, assigns campsites, and collects campground fees on a 24-hour check-in system. Prepares daily reports, annual budget requirements, provided monthly revisions of budget to meet the needs of the operation and submit to Outdoor Recreation Director for final review. Plans, initiates and performs major self-help projects. While directing Family Camp area ensures that only authorized personnel and checked-in guest are using the facility and adhering to rules, regulations, policies, procedures and safety protocols. Responsible for recruiting, selecting, training and supervising employees including, volunteers who are assigned to the campground. Volunteers dedicate approximately 1K hours per year to the facility. Maintains facility within the financial goals and protects AF assets and interest. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience of recreational activities, rules, and procedures. Planning, organizing, supervising and evaluating an Outdoor Recreational Program. Experience in management principles, practices and able to lead a team of employees. Experience in cash handling procedures and the use of cash register (manual, digital and self-check-in systems). Know-how in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing 40 pounds, and with assistance, lift objects up to and over 50 pounds. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
