Duties

You will assist with preliminary inquiries of security incidents as assigned and creating substantial and well written investigation reports to the Security Manager. You will assist in the development of or providing input to policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods for Security Management programs as assigned. You will assist with the management of security training including facilitation and coordination for all SWPFAC personnel in order meet DoD, DoN and SWFPAC security training requirements. You will assist or perform with oversight various inspections, assessments and inquiries to monitor program implementation and practices of joint and field commands or organizations in support of SWFPAC. You will assist program owner(s) in preparation for all inspections, assistance visits, reviews and assessments. You will assist with, or conduct, self-assessments to identify shortfalls or noncompliance, anticipates problems, and develop sound solutions and action plans to ensure program/mission accomplishment. You will assist in creating and implementing solutions to diverse, highly complex problems across multiple disciplines of security and across multiple areas of operation. You will participate in process and policy reviews, assessments, refinement or improvement as assigned. You will execute, document, and manage access control security files, and access profile sheets to ensure records are kept in accordance with local directives, policies, and procedures. You will provide input to the chain of command on requirements, processes, and procedures pertaining to the SWFPAC access control systems in order to streamline the access control programs. You will utilize software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite to capture, organize, assess, and present information in a logical and professional manner.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certificate (SFPC) within their first two years of employment

Qualifications

For the NH-02: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying security regulations to support support operations. For the NH-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: interpreting, analyzing, and implementing security policies and procedures for granting access and applying security regulations to support operations. Education

For the NH-02: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to three years of experience.
