About the Position: About the Position: This is an Administrative Support Assistant (OA), GS-0303-06 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division (SWD), Fort Worth District.

Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Duties
Receive visitors and phone calls for the Fort Worth District Safety Office.
Maintain files in accordance with current Army system, purging and retiring files as prescribed by regulation.
Obtain and handle mail in a timely manner, sorts and distributes mail for necessary action to include periodically handling confidential EEO files to be delivered via Fed-ex, USPS and UPS.
Order and maintain ongoing inventory of office supplies; arranges for equipment, telephone and furniture repair or moves, prepares justifications for the purchase of office equipment and furniture.
Maintain supervisors' calendars, accordingly, providing reminders and if necessary, briefing supervisors on items to be discussed prior to scheduled meetings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a qualified typist with a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing at least two of the following duties: 1) Assisting with an office budget by performing duties such as salaries, travel, training, supplies and materials, and all related costs both direct and indirect.; OR 2) Utilizing automated office software to prepare documents, correspondence and spreadsheets; OR 3) Performing administrative support duties for an office such as timekeeping and coordinating travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Education
