This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base in the DoD. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer.

Duties

You will unload incoming shipments, scan bar codes, or key receipt information into automated record system. You will verify shipments by checking shipping documents. You will transport materials from receiving areas to storage and/or customer. You will count and annotate types and quantities of items and appropriately sign receiving documents. You will use computer terminals, optical readers, bar code wands, scanners, etc., as available, to input supply data. You will analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory quality trends or weaknesses in the production system. You will operate forklift trucks, pallet jacks, and dollies to move, stack and unstack, load and unload, bin, and position material.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• You "may" be coded as "key" and as such may be required to be removed from your military recall status. A signed statement of understanding is required.
• You may lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds and handle heavier items with weightlifting equipment or with assistance from other workers.
• You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator (FLO) license.

Qualifications

Your resume demonstrate the ability to perform the work of a Materials Handler as demonstrated by experience, working under close supervision receiving, issuing, handling, storing, and inventorying, supplies, equipment, and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage; reading shipping and tracking documents; scanning bar codes or keying receipt information into automated records systems; complying with prescribed proper handling and storage procedures; operating materials handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

There is no substitute of education for experience for this series.
