About the Position: This position is a Referral Management Assistant located at Fort Drum, New York.
Duties
Contact provider to determine if patient was seen and to acquire referral results.
Provide customer service to beneficiaries in a courteous and professional manner.
Track completion of referrals by maintaining a suspense systems.
Pull clinical information and fax to authorized network provider.
Fax clinical records to network providers.
Identify problems within a system to report them to the appropriate personnel.
Research health service issues for providers and beneficiaries.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is, therefore, subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 20 pounds is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing customer service to patients such as guidance on facility policy and/or referral consultation; performing reception duties in a clinic such as scheduling appointments, answering phones and/or receiving patients; maintaining files for the facility.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
