The position is located in the Mental Health Service at the Birmingham VA Medical Center. Serves as the Mental Health Patient Care Management Module (MH/PCMM) Coordinator and Clinic Profiler for the Mental Health Service Line. Works in collaboration with the Chief of Mental Health, Deputy Chief of Mental Health, Administrative Officer, Providers, Nurses, MSAs, and other clinical staff in assuring the management and accuracy of the provider panel data base and provider clinic profiles.
Duties

Major Duties:
The MH PCMM Coordinator will set up and define teams; assign staff to positions on defined teams; assign patients to teams; assign patients to practitioner via team position and enroll in clinic.
Completes reports for health care team; manage inactivation list to include but not limited to deaths, potential inactivated patients, transfers, and dual assignments.
Electronically creates or modifies team and position setting, assigns provider user class based on verified credentials, links associated clinic, sets maximum panel sizes, program clinical alert notifications within PCMM, and establishes preceptors to associated provider link.
Monitors and maintains panels; completes correction of transmission errors; ensures data integrity in PCMM; and reviews/rectifies incorrect patient assignments.
Ensures maximum efficiency of the Mental Health clinic operations through appropriate utilization of resources: support to and involvement in, optimal management information system data gathering and analysis, validation, and presentation.
Performs work in direct support of an administrative area such as management analysis or operating program analysis for the MH PCMM package.
Maintains full responsibility and accountability for MH PCMM and clinic profile management in the Mental Health setting.
Assists in compiling requested statistical reports/data for Chief, Mental Health and Mental Health Leadership.
Assumes overall responsibility for establishing and editing clinic changes, notifications, for new and established clinics and inactivating clinics in the Mental Health Service.
Responsible for ensuring appointment reminder systems are set up accurately for all mental health outpatient clinic locations.
Responsible for creating new clinics, adjusting existing profiles as necessary for changes, inactivating & cancelling clinic availability.
Validates accuracy of all clinics set up including locations and contact information that accurately direct patients to the clinical service.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday

Qualifications
For GS-9:
Specialized Experience: Possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level of (GS-7) in Federal service. Specialized experience is applying basic data gathering methods, such as standard interviewing or surveying techniques to collect various types of information; extracting and analyzing patient encounters and provider workload data relative to Mental Health and making recommendations to management; interpreting complex data and recognizing errors and deviations from the norm to include database, spreadsheets and survey data; and using of various software applications and databases to develop reports and manage data. OR
Graduate Education: Possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) OR
Combining Education and Experience: Possess a Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade level. To be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
