This position is in the Social Work Department (SWD) and serves as the Chief of the Department.

Duties

Leading department-wide change-management efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department’s activities. Planning, developing, coordinating, managing and evaluating the programs of the Department including the language interpretation and program staffs. Directing the administrative and human resources activities for the Department. Planning, directing, and coordinating contracting efforts including monitoring and oversight functions. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating several unique and complex programs for social work services. Providing clinical evaluation and treatment for complex issues for which there exists no established standards of practice. Overseeing all Joint Commission readiness initiatives for the Department.

Requirements

• An active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required for this position.
• Position requires a Masters Degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Please provide transcripts.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: In order to qualify for a Social Worker, GS-0185 position, you must meet the following Basic Education Requirement: You must have a Master's Degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Additional Requirements: In addition, in order to qualify for a Supervisory Social Worker-GS-0185, at the GS-15 level, you must have at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: Planning, directing, and coordinating the financial and budgetary activities of a Social Work department; initiating and developing standards of care and criteria for newly identified areas of social work practices; managing the development of new approaches and methods to deliver social work services through subordinate supervisors; developing and implementing policies, procedures, or initiatives for social work as it relates to health care; and representing an organization in meetings and discussions with internal and external agencies. AND Selective Factor: In order to meet minimum qualification requirements you must demonstrate possession of the selective factor of this position. Selective factor include; You must possess an active, current registration as an independent, clinical Licensed Social Worker or equivalent level of licensure (i.e., LCSW, LICSW, CIPSW, etc.) from a licensing board in the United States including the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
