THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD0849000 and is part of the TN ARMY, National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 110.

Duties

As a Supply Technician, GS-2005-07, you will perform routine and non-routine material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Responsible for local management of decentralized and decontrolled items which require technical intervention to assure effective supply support and economy. Responsible for limited aspects of storage management. Perform other duties as assigned.

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
• Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
• For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-4 through E-8 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts. Experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.
