The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first level supervisory, by planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Combat Arms Training Maintenance (CATM). Responsible for executing the entire CATM program to support worldwide tactical deployments for Special Tactics Operators.
Duties
Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the 724th Special Tactics Squadron's Combat Arms Training and Maintenance (CATM) Program ensuring that the program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the 24th Special Tactics Squadron with a variety of installation 2nd functional area organizations.
Serves as the 720th Special Tactics Group's primary weapons expert for new weapons systems, tactics and training being developed for the special tactics arena.
Responsible for maintaining a large inventory or standard and non-standard weapons and munitions items.
Enforces all security, safety, and accounting requirements.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions GS-1712 Series
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must I have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level (or higher) or equivalent in other pay systems. My experience demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Serving as first level supervisor by planning, directing, organizing and exercising control over non supervisory employees. Analyzes weapons and munitions requirements. Knowledge of Combat Arms Training Management functions, operations, program requirements

EDUCATION: master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR a LL.M, if related. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of Combat Arms Training Management functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods; and knowledge of the Air Force supply and equipment systems.
2. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
3. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices used in classroom and firing range instruction to include classroom instruction techniques, to conduct training and operational instruction in assigned weapons and proper handling of standard and non-standard combat arms used in Special Tactics. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks, adhere to safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures, resolve complex problems, and perform maintenance. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex problems and/or deviate from normal Combat Arms Training management procedures or program requirements.
6. Ability to receive, screen, review, and verify inventory and acquisition documents and resolve discrepancies.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
