THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a WL-8852-10 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC LEADER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1410000 in FAC 21A300 and is part of the MO 131st Bomb Wing.
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining position.

Duties
On a regular and recurring basis, leads three or more aircraft mechanics, crew chiefs, and special personnel performing work in the inspection docks.
Monitors the work of assigned personnel, sets the pace, passes along assignments, and assures that materials, tools, equipment and stock set available.

Works along with aircraft mechanics and specialist personnel performing journeyman work as required.
Ensures that assigned personnel are fully utilized and work is accomplished in accordance with established time frames and priorities.
Advises the supervisor of overall work operations, status and progress of work, causes for delays, problems encountered, and individual performance (e.g. additional on-the-job training requirements for individual employees).
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Advanced in hire rate may be granted to set pay above the minimum rate of the grade for a new employee if he/she possesses superior qualifications relevant to the positions' requirements and is essential to accomplish the agency's mission.
- Creditable Service for Annual Leave accrual may be granted to new employees if he/she possesses superior qualifications essential to the position; and which were acquired through performance in a non-federal or active duty uniformed service position.
- The duties performed in a non-federal or active duty uniformed service position must directly relate to the position to which appointed and such qualifications are necessary to achieve an important agency mission or performance goal to be eligible.

- This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Qualifications
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which demonstrates skill in and knowledge of the work; ability to lead others, to organize tools and materials for them; and to interpret technical orders, regulations and procedures.
WL-10 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 24 months of specialized experience in a wide variety of aircraft repair work that provided you with the knowledge and skill to direct and instruct others in aircraft repair procedures. The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to provide guidance to others in troubleshooting unusual/complex equipment malfunctions affecting one or more aircraft systems; and the ability to provide guidance to others in the performance of airworthiness inspections.
Must currently possess or have held AFSC 2A574.
