Joining the Secret Service, Office of Training, James J. Rowley Training Center, you will provide training to law enforcement officers while continuously developing and refining instructional curriculums and advanced instructional methods. The selectee will serve as a Training Instructor (Law Enforcement) in the Office of Training, James J. Rowley Training Center. Typical work assignments include:

  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level performing duties such as:  Coordinating, developing, and instructing curriculum related to law enforcement training for basic and in service program areas; Coordinating with law enforcement agencies to determine current and future curriculum content;   Providing professional and technical information to managers, employees and students.  Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifications Must Be Met: The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
