You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY/OA) in the MARINE CORP RECRUITING COMMAND of 6TH MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Legal, TAD, Orders, Separations and Limited Duty sections that fall under the Outbound Branch for 1,500 permanent personnel. You will update, inquire, and process actions through the Unit Diary Marine Integrated Personnel System (UD/MIPS). You will review products to identify and assist in correcting erroneous data in the Marine Corps Total Forces System (MCTFS) and UD/MIPS, and requests and distribute products as necessary. You will advise customers on eligibility requirements and processing procedures. You research and/or provide factual information regarding directly applicable rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements and/or provide explanations of actions taken or recommend.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing a variety of administrative and technical support functions for the military personnel programs (e.g. certify entitlement actions, process actions, retrieve data and prepare reports), ensuring workload is balanced among the staff, and providing on the job training.
