The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a multi-source intelligence analyst engaging in the complex technical analysis and production of information obtained and processed from one or more intelligence sources in support of customer requirements.

Duties

-Serves as a multi-source intelligence analyst on complex technical analysis and production. Situations/information analyzed and produced are not susceptible to generally accepted methods and requires the use of independent judgment and experience to develop new methods, approaches, and procedures. Performs analysis or leads teams/projects in intelligence production to support component, combatant command, and support agency planning and operations. Interprets data and makes analytic judgments on broad-based and domain/discipline­agnostic intelligence products, applications, capabilities, and resources within assigned/defined geographical or functional areas of responsibility. -Presents ISR capabilities to a variety of service, national, and coalition customers. Provides Commanders and other customers the intelligence information and analysis derived from ISR assets to maximize their own forces' effectiveness by optimizing friendly force strengths, exploiting adversary weaknesses, and countering adversary strengths. Identifies the requirement and delivers a fused intelligence product to a consumer. Uses independent judgment to seek new techniques and technologies associated with intelligence processing concepts. Applies broad knowledge of relevant customer organizations or operations (e.g., military, policy makers, and law enforcement) including how to translate requirements to provide appropriate output or response to meet customer needs. -Evaluates both classified and unclassified information to understand adversary strengths, weaknesses, and centers of gravity. Conducts complex research, evaluates, analyzes and fuses multi-source information from all intelligence disciplines (OSINT, SIGINT, HUMINT, GEOINT, MASINT) to satisfy a broad range of customer requirements. Performs detailed analysis of complex data sets to uncover intelligence gaps and then creates corresponding collection requirements to more completely understand the adversary. Understands the advance principles, concepts, and procedures of intelligence integration and fusion capabilities to synthesize large data sets to make recommendations to senior analysts and staff. -Manages intelligence production. Manages intelligence production to satisfy component, combatant command and support agency requirements. Uses a variety of intelligence production requirement tasking methods ( email, phone call, COLISEUM, etc) and then builds production schedules to meet consumer demand. Applies independent judgment in balancing the operational need for accuracy and expediency in satisfying production objectives. Uses experience, critical thinking, and independent judgment to develop and implement the best methods or approaches to meet timelines and accuracy of ground, air, space, and cyberspace production needs. -Serves as a functional authority on ISR issues for WG and GP leadership. Makes recommendations and defends to the WG and GP staff, decisions on operational policy matters; often required to make recommendations on committing funds or resources impacting future capabilities. Represents the GP/WG in meetings with planners from other MAJCOMs, Air Staff, DoD, National Security Agency (NSA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA); Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other national agencies.

  • An advanced intelligence-related or professional/scientific degree is desirable
  • Incumbent may be subject to psychological screening/polygraph testing as an inherent primary requirement of theit position

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of the full range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments to interpret policy and commit resources. Knowledge of advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analyses of complex information/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations, and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: ??????? 1. Knowledge of the full range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments to interpret policy and commit resources. 2. Knowledge of advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analyses of complex infonnation/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation. 3. Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations, and mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations. 4. Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing collection requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients. 5. Skill in communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes. 6. Ability to maintain control of classified material, quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure based on mature judgment and experience and present and/or defend a position effectively. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT'D: 1. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
