This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA -HC/HOSTING AND COMPUTE CENTER (HCB23).
Duties
Oversees the cybersecurity program of an information system or network; including managing information security implications within the organization, specific program, or other areas of responsibility
Develops policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.
Conducts systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews. Develops systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
Participates in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies.
Projects managed directed, or otherwise undertaken are large-scale in scope with technical authority over a wide range of Information Technology (IT) disciplines, systems, and applications.
Employs broad comprehensive knowledge of emerging technologies enterprise IT architecture, customer business processes, organizational plans, and resource requirements in accomplishment of assigned projects.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in IT Cyberspace Operational Security Analysis to include assessing target vulnerabilities and/or operational capabilities to determine course of action; developing, reviewing, recommending, and implementing all levels of planning guidance in cyber operations; providing recommendations for cyber systems security and defense.

Education
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GG-13 grade level.
