About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) is a relatively small organization with a mission critical to our national defense. Our job is to process individuals for enlistment or induction for all five services into the armed forces. For most new military service members, processing through the MEPS is the first real exposure to a military operation. For that reason, we seek customer-oriented employees with a desire to serve their country in a meaningful way.

Duties

Serve as the primary civilian and military personnel systems manager for employees of the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). Address all visitor and business-related phone calls or walk-ins. Maintain files, records, manuals, handbooks, media, and other related materials. Prepare monthly reports to higher headquarters regarding personnel, operational, and unit information.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a DD 285, Mail Handlers Card.
  • Must sign a Confidential Agreement.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
