As a Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for overall project management of Prospectus Level, projects that are complex building and/or leasing projects, project groupings which can comprise major, politically sensitive, and complex initiatives from the preliminary planning stage through the design, construction, equipment installation, and check-out stage.Location of position: PBS, Office of Design and Construction, Washington DCAdditional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
Serve as a project manager, responsible for overall project management of the most major, politically sensitive, complex initiatives in the National Capital Region (NCR), including business management of the most complex building projects from the preliminary planning stage though the design, construction,equipment installation, and check-out stage.
Assignments encompass broad managerial responsibilities, such as planning, organizing, controlling, coordinating, reviewing, and approving design, construction, and related work performed by other GSA organizations; embrace multi-million dollar projects.
Applies the latest trends and state-of-the art technologies in facility design, construction, alterations, space management, contracting, negotiations, and knowledge management to ensure that major capital development projects meet the current and future requirements of clients.
Develops project plans including methodology, resource requirements, timelines, priorities and budget impact. Acquires and manages fiscal resources for each major capital development initiative. Directs and performs budget planning and execution to support each step indevelopment. Establishes evaluation criteria, and measurements to assess projects on an ongoing basis.Oversees project reviews, readjustments in funding and timelines.
Provides leadership and direction to a wide range of representatives from within and outside the Federal sector during the development and management of multi-million dollar projects.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $117,962 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience utilizing project management practices and tools to simultaneously manage multiple complex and high-risk construction and/or repair and alteration projects in a real estate environment. This experience must include Managing complex projects (balancing scope/quality, schedule, budget, and risk) requiring the services of multiple disciplines (i.e., construction, design, IT, telecommunications, interior furnishings, etc.) from project initiation phase through financial closeout; Interpreting multi-level customer needs and developing them into actionable requirements; Developing, managing, and balancing project plans, budgets, and schedules, including assessing risk and developing appropriate mitigation strategies; Managing multiple stakeholders by developing relationship strategies; Applying procurement knowledge and experience to manage contracts supporting assigned projects; and negotiating sound real estate business transactions.
