This position is located in COMMANDANT, VICE COMMANDANT (CG-09), DEPUTY COMDT FOR OPERATIONS (CG-DCO), NATIONAL MARITIME CENTER, in Martinsburg, WV.
Duties
This position is located in the Coast Guard's National Maritime Center (NMC). The NMC manages the Mariner Credentialing Program (MCP) and is responsible for developing and implementing policies related to one or more missions of the United States Coast Guard. The incumbent provides executive level administrative services for the Commanding Officer and Deputy Director of the National Maritime Center and general support to the NMC Command staff.
Requirements

- Ability to type 40 words per minute is mandatory.
- This position may require a one-year probationary period.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Qualifications
At the GS-07 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal service.
Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: prepares travel orders; maintains and organize office files and other materials; screens all calls and visitors; maintains property accountability and conducts property audits; maintains time and attendance; and schedules meetings/conferences.
At the GS-08 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal service.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
