About the Position: As an Electrical Electronic Craftsworker, you will perform installation, modification, maintenance and repair of digital electronic equipment and associated devices related to data collection systems, centralized control systems, remote control systems, and communications systems at multiple purpose hydroelectric projects

Duties

Electronic systems may include: Digital Processors, Communication Systems, Sequential Events Recorders, Remote Terminal Units, Centralized/Remote Digital Controls, Power Generation Equipment, Navigation Locks, Fishway/Spillway Controls and Equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
  • This position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License
  • Current UPTO applicants, and Non-UPTO applicants must be able to obtain and maintain Information Assurance Technician I level certification within 6 months of placement into the position.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs.

Qualifications

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ELECTRICAL ELECTRONIC CRAFTSWORKER ~ without more than normal supervision. Qualified applicants must have the ability to perform the common tasks associated with repair and maintenance of electronic equipment; this would include the ability to receive oral instructions as to the nature of repairs, installation, or maintenance to be made, and the ability to proceed to carry out the work, receiving advice and assistance as required. Such work includes cleaning, making adjustments and/or repairs, calibration and re-testing equipment including various relays, meters, recorders, controllers, indicators, radio transmitters and receivers, oscillators and amplifiers, electronic relays and other electronic and communication equipment.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Efforts: Required to stand for long periods on hard surfaces, climb stairs and ladders, work in awkward positions requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and twisting. Requires a high degree of concentrated mental and visual attention as well as the ability to coordinate a high degree of manual dexterity with close visual attention for sustained periods. Must be able to distinguish colors. Required to lift parts and equipment weighing frequently up to, and occasionally over, 45 pounds. Working Conditions: Required to work inside and outside and is subject to bad weather (heat, cold, rain, snow). Work is often unpleasant due to noise, weather, dirt, grease, dust, etc. Subject to severe injury from working around and in close proximity to energized equipment and around moving machinery. Subject to cuts, bruises, burns, and electrical shock. Must wear appropriate safety equipment and protective clothing, and successfully complete and maintain all occupational health requirements.
