About the position: This position is located at the Barksdale Air Force Base.
This position is under the supervision of the Child Development Center (CDC) Director.
This is a Regular Part-Time (RPT) position.
Medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401k, and sick and annual leave are available to Regular category employees.
Duties
Responsible for the administration of all food areas in accordance with the United States Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program (USDA CACFP), State and Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines for the the Barksdale AFB Child Development Programs (CDPs). CDPs include the Child Development Centers (CDC), Youth Center (YC), School Age Care (SAC), and Family Child Care Home Providers (FCCHP).
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees the USDA administration of the Louisiana Department of Health Child Care Food Program for two CDCs, one YC with a SAC, and an average of 20 FCCHP.
Requirements
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend while conducting inspections.
- Periodic driving is required. Requires a valid driver's license.
- Must complete First Aid and CPR within the first 6 months of employment. Attends local and/or mandatory State training sessions. Attends all other training deemed necessary by supervisor, to include monthly night/weekend training.

Qualifications
Must maintain current certifications on ServSafe and any other certificates required by USDA, DoD, Federal, or State guidelines.
Must have general knowledge and experience of filing systems, record keeping, and computer use, to include Microsoft Office Excel. Training and/or experience is required which provides a practical knowledge of foods and nutrition and early childhood development as it relates to nutrition. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to create reports and/or perform mathematical computations.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify. If you are claiming education substitution's applicant must upload copies of unofficial transcripts and or Degree.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
