This position is assigned to the Engineering Service, Facilities Maintenance and Operations Section. The incumbent works as a Journeyman Direct Digital Controls Mechanic, responsible for the comprehensive technical support of a highly complex centralized dedicated computer-controlled Building Management System (BMS).

Duties

As the Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic, you will: Responsible for installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and replacing a variety of electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic computerized controls. Will perform programing of existing and new BMS components and systems. Must have skills, experience, and knowledge to calibrate properly, adjust, maintain, install, and set up new equipment with only minimal guidance from immediate supervisor. Will perform the overhaul, installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of various types of electronic equipment that is characterized by highly complex design, construction, and function such as Network Controllers (NC), DX Controllers, AHU controllers, UNT controllers, TEC controllers, NAE controllers, NCE controllers, FEC controllers, VAV controllers, VMA controllers and a wide variety of sensors, probes, thermostats, and similar monitoring/measuring devices. Responsible for programming in commands, to build and modify levels to include analog limit, group and point assignments, event and time programs and calculation such as CFM, BTU efficiency, and temperature averaging for the system. Performs pretest, operational (functional), and final testing; final tuning; alignment; and/or calibration of highly complex electronic systems, components, and/or subassemblies. Performs preventive maintenance on electronic industrial control systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration. Utilizes safety and security practices and procedures following established rules and regulations and maintains a safe, clean, and secure work environment. Can also work as an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic in maintenance and repair of all major mechanical refrigeration and air condition equipment, including independent electronic solid-state controlled air conditioning systems. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm Position Description Title/PD#: Electronic Industrial Control Mechanic/PD570-02946-O Physical Requirements: You will make repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, and where the systems and equipment worked on are in hard-to-reach places. You will frequently stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. You will frequently handle, lift, and carry items that weigh over 50 pounds with help.
