You will serve as a Lead Firefighter (BLS/HAZMAT OPS) in the Fire Protection Division of NAVBASE POINT LOMA.
Duties
You will perform an initial patient assessment in a medical emergency.
You will coordinate training for junior employees within a department to promote growth for promotional opportunities.
You will direct firefighters during structural, aircraft, and shipboard fire suppression and extinguishing.
You will direct the deployment and use of firefighting equipment and personnel on the scene of emergencies.
You will establish a safe perimeter around a hazardous material incident to protect self and others.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Lead firefighters in firefighting and rescue operations; 2) Directs and participates in practice drills and/or training practice for assigned crew in all phases of firefighting techniques and equipment maintenance and use; 3) Inspects, tests, and/or corrects deficiencies on fire protection systems; 4) Performs basic life support and noninvasive emergency procedures to stabilize patients. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Airport Firefighter, Apparatus Driver-Operator for Pumper, Airport Rescue Firefighting (ARFF), Aerial vehicles, Fire Officer 1, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, HAZMAT Operations, and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (NREMT-B).These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or Pro Board to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
