About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eglin AFB Outdoor Recreation Marina. Must be physically able to frequently lift, handle, and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and with assistance, objects up to and over 50 pounds. Must be able to frequently, stand, bend, stoop, crawl, and work in tight spaces for long periods of time.

Duties

Diagnoses malfunctions of outboard motors to determine the source of trouble and to determine the extent of repairs required, including electrical systems, geared units, and components. Using specialized testing equipment, tears down, adjusts, repairs, reassembles, and runs operational checks on engines to determine necessary repairs. Determines supplies and parts needed for repair of motors. May maintain maintenance records on all equipment repaired, annotating manhours, materials, and date of repair. Based on these records, determines bench stock required and maintenance schedules.Instructs patrons in all phases of safety regulations concerning use of boats and motors. May collect fees for rental of equipment and prepare daily cash reports and deposit funds.
