About the Position: Position is for a Purchasing Agent, GS-1105-09 for the U.S. Military Academy, Office of the Commadant of Cadets located in West Point, NY.
Duties
Provide contracting guidance for Non-appropriated Fund procurements.
Perform purchasing using small purchase procedures.
Prepare requests as required for acquisition actions.
Determine when negotiations are needed for procurement of goods and services.
Oversee the overall work flow of the Directorate of Cadet Activities (DCA) Central Procurement Office.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Foundational or Contracting Professional Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience at the GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Determining the appropriate method of purchase; 2) Monitoring contractor performance; AND 3) Preparing negotiations for contract modifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
