You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering Design Department, Design Directorate at Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command of NAVMEDREADLOGCMD.

Duties

You will perform engineering related duties supporting. You will prepare and sort documents for data entry. You will write and track engineering Configuration Change Proposals (CCPs) and enter data changes into DoD approved databases. You will oversee inventory control of Engineering Design Assessment Center (EDAC), Inspecting equipment assigned to EDAC, managing receipts and returns from contractor and maintaining inventory records. You will compile and submit equipment request. You will assist in research and identification of engineering end items and related National Stock Numbers.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing engineering related duties to include reading and interpret engineering drawings, working knowledge of computer software such as: Microsoft word, excel, powerpoint, outlook, Computer Aided drafting Program (AutoCAD), and data base queries. Identifying, formulating, and evaluating engineering electrical, mechanical and structural systems for form, fit and function. Using the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice. Communicating effectively orally and in writing with higher graded engineers and technicians.
