Duties

You will serve as a Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) Warranted Buyer for purchases. You will requisition and makes purchases of supplies, material, equipment, and services in compliance with all applicable supply and service acquisition procedures, policies, and regulations utilizing the Accountable Property System of Record (APSR). You will resolve all discrepancies with services and material orders such as incorrect quantities; and arranging for replacement, exchange, or return for credit of defective, damaged and/or incorrect material. You will track and maintain up-to-date status of all requisitions and purchases. You will reconcile and validate monthly credit card statements with completed credit card purchase package.

Requirements

  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

FOR THE GS-08: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Purchasing supplies, materials, equipment with a Government Purchase Card; 2) Tracking and maintaining the up-to-date status of all requisitions, purchases, and overdue material; 3) Reviewing purchase requests to ensure they meet the standards of the GPC program; 4) Making recommendations on long lead-time material or critical spare parts; and 5) Determining the appropriate method to obtain services and equipment (i.e. delivery orders, purchase orders, credit card, etc.). FOR THE GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving, reviewing, and processing requests for purchases or services using a computer software system; 2) Tracking and maintaining up-to-date records of purchases and services; 3) Applying customer service principles and practices using excellent communication skills; and 4) Identifying issues or problems in a purchase or service program and seeking alternative solutions for customers.
