About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Eisenhower, GA.
Duties
Assists supervisor's subordinates by relaying specific instructions and giving advice concerning procedural and administrative requirements.
Develops material, via computer-based programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, for supervisor's use in meetings, briefings, and public speaking engagements.
Reviews significant correspondence, directives and regulatory material, and forwards those matters which require review by the Commandant along with all pertinent information.
Answers telephone and tactfully screens calls for possible referral to other members of the Staff or School rather than to the Commandant or Deputy to the Commandant or the Assistant Commandant.
Takes and transcribes dictation of a variety of material such as correspondence, minutes of meetings, conferences, telephone conversations, studies, reports, and related material.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Single Scope Background Investigation (TS/SSBI) with access to Secret Compartmented Information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position requires temporary duty travel (TDY) from the duty station up to 5 percent of the time.

This position is in the Technician/Administrative Support Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by using word-processing software to produce a variety of documents; receiving all visitors and telephone calls in order to determine the nature and purpose of the call or visit; manage a brigadier general officer and GG15 calendar; gathering pertinent background material for the supervisor in order to assist with presentations; schedule travel to include reserving hotels, flights, rental cars and processing authorizations and vouchers in Defense Travel System.
