Duties

This position starts at a salary of $139,395.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $181,216 (GS-14 Step 10). The Maritime Patrol Aircraft Maintenance Officer overseas the Maritime Patrol Aircraft Maintenance and Logistics Support area to include the radar, sensor and mission systems on board to meet Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP mission goals. As a Program Manager you will be for overseeing one of many areas within the PMO pertaining to aircraft sustainability. Performing long-range program planning of resource requirements to meet program needs, enhancing program accomplishments, and complying with regulatory and policy requirements. Developing essential technical and acquisition plans, structures the acquisition program, constructs schedules, determines internal and external interdependencies, drafts key acquisition documents, implements the program's planning, manages changes, and deploys the resultant product(s). Monitoring ongoing projects for compliance with milestones and, schedules, and for identification and resolution of problems or issues of negative impact on successful project completion. Conducting briefings attended by technical and functional personnel and high-ranking government and industry officials to explain new or contemplated developments, accomplishments, and program status.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing the triple constraints of cost, schedule, and performance; long range planning for acquisition programs; acquisition program budget and financial management; program execution; and monitoring contractor performance. Developing essential technical and acquisition plans, structures the acquisition program, constructs schedules, determines internal and external interdependencies, drafts key acquisition documents, implements the program's planning, manages changes, and deploys the resultant product(s). Reviewing work progress in terms of completed activities and results as shown in reports, accomplishment of projects or schedules, degree of individual accomplishments, and workload. Identifying and evaluating program risks, issues, and opportunities for assigned projects. Evaluates weaknesses and failures, identifies problems, develops solutions, and monitors implementation of changes.
