THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (CUSTOMER SUPPORT), Position Description Number D2527000 and is part of the KS Joint Forces Headquarters, National Guard.

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (CUSTOMER SUPPORT) GS-2210-12, you will establish performance standards and evaluates employee performance. Review and recommend approval of, candidates for promotions and recognition. Review and approve: work plans to be accomplished by subordinates; priorities and schedules for completion of work; sets broad objectives; monitors subordinate employees' performance in providing IT services; reviews accomplishments; and takes appropriate action of correction when deficiencies are noted. Gives advice, counsels, or instructs individual employees, on both work and administrative matters. Develop and evaluates performance standards; recommends and approves awards; hears and resolves group employee grievances or serious employee complaints. Review and make decisions on serious disciplinary actions involving employees and makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinates. Initiate recognition and disciplinary actions for personnel. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements. Requirements

• KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance within one year of appointment.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

• THIS POSITION CONDUCTS INFORMATION ASSURANCE FUNCTIONS. THE INCUMBENT SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION.

• Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M for Cyber workforce as an IA Management Level II within 6 months of employment pending training seat availability.

Qualifications

Military Grades: WO1 through CW5 Compatible Military Assignments: CMF 25, 255A GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. "Information Assurance Certification" is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position." PHYSICAL EFFORT: The work is sedentary. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in a typical office setting. Special safety precautions are not required.
