Do you have experience providing health science planning and administration of scientific research programs and projects?
The Division of Lung Diseases (DLD), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute is seeking candidates to provide scientific and technical support for the planning and management of scientific research programs and initiatives.
Duties
Provide scientific and technical expertise and support for the planning and management of scientific research programs and initiatives.
Track and prioritize action items, managing multiple priorities, participating in meetings, and developing recommendations to improve program effectiveness.
Design, conduct, and summarize scientific program analyses of research programs and projects.
Develop new and innovative concepts and strategies for accomplishing research goals and objectives.
Prepare and coordinate a broad range of reports, summaries, program data, and other scientific research information.
Manage scientific programs and research projects.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
In order to qualify for a Scientific Program Specialist, GS-0601 position: You must have completed a full 4 year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or graduate higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Additional Qualifications
In order to qualify for a Scientific Program Specialist, GS-0601 position at the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: performing health research project and program analysis and evaluation; maintaining databases used in scientific program evaluation; developing methodologies for tracking recurring requirements and progress of scientific research; and providing analytic and interpretative data used in formulating organizational policies and goals.
In order to qualify for Scientific Program Specialist, GS-0601 position at the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: providing scientific and technical support for the planning and management of scientific research programs and initiatives; providing guidance to research teams in completing scientific research studies and projects; collaborating on scientific research program activities; and preparing reports and documents on scientific research projects and data.
