About the Position: Serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Media Relations Division of the United States Army Military District of Washington, Directorate of Public Affairs, a United States Army major command headquartered at Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, DC.

Duties

Manage and direct the media relations program for the entire command. Take the lead for all complex media escort responsibilities in the Arlington National Cemetery and a variety of special media and high visibility community relations events. Coordinate with local, national, and international media representatives for all crisis communications operations, local news activities, command-sponsored outreach engagements, and special events. Research, write, develop, and implement public affairs strategic integrated communications plans to support the command. Organize, conduct, and lead complex brainstorm sessions leading to plan input. Provide input for personnel management functions, to include performance evaluations, award recommendations, developmental and training needs, attendance.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and MediaMessage DevelopmentPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
