About the Position: Serves as the activity Exceptional Family Member Program's (EFMP) coordinator, responsible for identifying, coordinating and obtaining a variety of resources and services for Active-Duty family members who have physical, developmental, emotional or intellectual disabilities or illness. Work hours are from 0730-1630 Mon-Fri with one-hour lunch. CURRENTLY FEDERALLY EMPLOYED YOU MUST MEET TIME- IN-GRADE AT THE GS-06 GRADE LEVEL. SEE QUALIFICATIONS BELOW.

Duties

Initiate basic case management procedures and conducts a preliminary review of Exceptional Family Members documents to determine eligibility for enrollment. Update the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Standard Operating Procedures for the office. Face-to-face and electronic communication with customers. Data entry into various electronic databases and spreadsheets. Administrative functions associated with completing Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) actions. Provide formal training to health care personnel, health care providers, and administrative personnel on Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) screening, coding and enrollment procedures. Prepare reports and surveys as appropriate to meet requirements outlined in regulation or as requested by higher headquarters.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires a national agency check with inquires (NACI).
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination. You are required to undergo specific initial background checks, investigation and periodic re-verification check of multiple agency records.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather or other emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work to support mission operations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as social or behavioral sciences, medical administration or psychology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
