This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for providing administrative and academic support to the Registrar's Office through processing of grades, transcripts, enrollment verifications, student registrations, course management, maintenance, and integrity of student records, and assist in the development of the school training calendar.
Duties
As a Education and Training Technician at the GS-1702-7/8/9 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Thorough knowledge of the principles, theories, and techniques of instruction/training, and knowledge of qualitative and qualitative techniques in order to measure effectiveness; thorough knowledge of the Instructional System Development (ISD) process to develop, implement, and evaluate curricula; and extensive knowledge of test construction.
Forecasts potential requirements, resolves problems, and plans and projects time for historically recurring requirements.
Oversees course development, checks, and inspects facilities, training aids, training material, and equipment, and conducts survey reports to determine if they have an effect on training courses.
Develops and maintain internal and external contacts and working relationships with staff that are critical partners.
Develops and recommends improvements to administrative program policies, practices, and methods. Manages the day-to-day administration of academic courses.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-07, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service:
Assisting with monitoring course enrollments and prerequisites; gathering statistical data, preparing various student rosters and accolades, and preparing various reports.
Managing training programs such as registering students, in processing and out processing of students, and producing diplomas/certificates for graduation.
Verifying and transferring student academic grades, issuing and accounting for student badges, and providing transcripts with supervision.
You may qualify at the GS-08, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service:
Performing student in-processing, registration, and out-processing.
Assisting with monitoring course enrollments and prerequisites.
Providing professional customer service responses to inquiries that are made in writing, over the phone, via email or in person with supervision.
You may qualify at the GS-09, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service:
Monitoring course enrollments and prerequisites.
Providing inputs in management systems; entering class dates in the database management systems.
Providing data for training quality indicator reports to the Registrar, Provost, and School leadership on trends, historical data regarding student inputs, graduations, attrition, average student loads and other student data.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
