You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Non-Guard Security Programs of NSA WASHINGTON SECURITY DETACHMENT.

Duties

You will control various levels of classified materials and secure storage of classified material. You will prepare correspondence and documents in accordance with regulations and policies ensuring they follow proper structure, grammar, and punctuation. You will answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals. You will collaborate with local and regional suppliers to obtain items to meet the requirements of the program for routine and special items.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

FOR GS-05: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Providing a variety of clerical tasks to ensure efficient office operations including receiving and answering routine telephone inquiries; 2) Assist in maintaining essential operating supplies and equipment; 3) Assist with distributing mail and messages; typing correspondence, reports, etc.; and 4) Assist in processing and protecting sensitive unclassified information. NOTE: This experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position. FOR GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1)Providing customer services, records management, and office automation work; as well as performing a variety of clerical tasks to ensure efficient office operations (such as receiving and answering routine telephone inquiries; 2) Using judgement to answer recurring questions and resolving clerical and administrative problems; 3) Ensuring essential operating supplies are maintained and equipment are in proper function; 4)distributing mail and messages; typing correspondence, reports, etc.; and 5) Processing sensitive unclassified information with protection to ensure confidentiality). Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school.
