Duties
Serves as principal advisor to the Site Director on Family Advocacy, personal and family deployment readiness, emergency/crisis assistance, relocation, and quality of life related services.
Works independently to develop and coordinate the necessary plans and procedures to conduct the site responsibilities in the Family Advocacy, personal and family deployment readiness, and emergency/crisis assistance and relocation services.
Provides individual and family consultation services, education, referrals and follow-up.
Researches and writes articles; prepares and delivers presentations on services and activities. Researches, organizes, designs, procures and disseminates community resource information.
Establishes contacts with professional associations, installation service agencies and others to maintain, enhance and deliver comprehensive services.
Requirements

- Assignment requires up to 20% travel.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Progressively responsible experience and training that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties above and as detailed below:
Expert knowledge of government and Department of Defense Programs regulations, policies, principles, and procedures, to advise and to make recommendations for revision to and/or establish new regulations, policies, or procedures.
Comprehensive, thorough knowledge and understanding of the substantive nature of the justification, acquisition, and operation of MWR Family programs and processes, and the interrelationship among these programs.
Conduct evaluative activities and analyze this data to improve program effectiveness and complex management processes.
Expert skill in written and oral communications in order to prepare written guidance and decisions; to present sensitive recommendations to higher authority; to explain and defend decisions to the MWR personnel, contractors, or higher-level officials.
Highly Preferred:
Must obtain a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in any of the following disciplines: Social work, Psychology, Marriage and family therapy, Child and adolescent counseling, Counseling or behavioral science, Nursing, Education, Community health or public health?
Must have two years of experience in a public family and children's services agency or family and children's services community organization? 1 year of which is in prevention, intervention, counseling, or treatment of child abuse and domestic abuse.
