About the Position:The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance.

Duties

Paint Inspection: Perform in-process and final acceptance inspection of repaired and final paint finishing on exterior/interior of aircraft engine, transmission and rotor head components, structures and associated assemblies and shipping containers. Assure that all work processes accomplished meet established quality control criteria, i.e. good workmanship, specific measurements and tolerances, and conformance with current technical data and work specifications. Request laboratory testing when necessary to identify and/or condition of materials. Equipment Cleaning Inspection: Perform in-process and final inspection of parts and equipment after cleaning. Inspection of removal of harmful contaminants, corrosion removal and its treatment, and the removal of paint/rust on interiors and exteriors of rotary wing aircraft parts, components, structures and associated assemblies performed by trade workers.

Resumes will be reviewed for experience and/or training which provided skills and knowledge of the following ability to perform proper cleaning and application of paint on aircraft structures, components, associated assemblies, or containers; determine the methods, techniques, materials, and devices best suited to obtain smooth-textured and decorative surfaces and ensuring that surface coatings meet level and thickness requirements. Experience reading and applying directions that relate to the mixture, use, and application of various kinds of coating materials. Experience with cleaning processes such as media blasting, chemical dipping, high pressure washing. Experience with preservation coatings. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To InspectAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentDexterity and SafetyKnowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Physical Efforts: May require long periods of walking, bending, stooping, climbing tall work stands, and standing. Occasionally, heavy lifting is required by this position; however, when required to lift objects weighing in excess of 35 pounds, incumbent will obtain assistance of others or use mechanical handling equipment. Incumbent is also exposed to vapors and paint fumes. Working Conditions: Work is performed in shop areas subject to shop and equipment noise, inside or outside of buildings where dirt, spray and fumes are present. Subject to hazard of electrical shock, cuts and bruises, noise and possibility of falling from aircraft and work stand. Requires adherence to proper safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Working conditions are considered in the evaluation of the position. Requires wearing of safety equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, aprons, respirator, safety harness, etc. There is a possibility of exposure to hazardous materials/waste.
