Duties
Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of contact to an Airlift Squadron for various training programs and actions. Additionally, incumbent will accomplish 4 AS personnel training and qualification manpower analysis to ensure all positions are maintained ready for wartime doctrine commitment. This includes guidance, management, analysis, reporting and supervision of personnel qualifications and upgrades, and managing the squadron formal school training program. Serve as main source of continuity for the training work center to enable a smooth transition amongst transient military personnel.
Duties
Formal School Program Management.
Acts as a liaison between DOV, DOT, and SOCs ensuring crew member currency, qualification, standards, and training.
Uses a variety of automated (e.g. records management, electronic forms, electronic publications, etc.) and non-automated systems to perform various clerical duties.
Administers military technical training and educational services programs.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes, (1) Knowledge of an extensive body of policies and procedures governing the overall organizational administrative and operations; (2) Knowledge of various steps and procedures needed to perform duties, to ensure all actions are accomplished and if the problems exist, to identify other alternatives as needed; (3) Knowledge of the basic objective and policies governing various management or program operations; (4) Knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures and function keys to procedure a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Basic knowledge of directives governing training programs and activities to assist supervisors in projecting, planning and managing programs.
2. Skill in planning and executing training programs and providing advice and technical guidance to squadron units.
3. Knowledge and basic ability to create and modify files using latest Microsoft office products such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel, as well as USAF software such as Evaluation Management System (EMS), Global Decision Support System 2 (GDSS2) and IMT.
4. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
5. Ability to produce and analyze training data and reports.
6. Skill in developing new or modified program administration procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
