THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD0915000 and is part of the TN ARMY National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 110.

Duties

As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN GS-2005-07 (TITLE 32), you will be responsible for all phases of DLR and CLIX repair/repairable items procurement and returns program. Forecast, justify, prepare, submit, and administer the annual DLR budget request. Responsible to acquire needed DLR and CLIX repair parts. Verify availability and orders DLR parts as needed. Determine proper fund coding, prepare requisitions and forward to source of supply. Ensure part availability, receive part, stores, prepare Material Release Order (MRO), and forward part to maintenance shops. Recover damaged/unserviceable part, initiate turn-in procedure, prepare for shipment, package and ship to depot, Aviation Classification Repair Army Depot (AVCRAD), or other appropriate activity. Maintain Document Control Register and ship-out log. Verify that appropriate activity has received returned part. Assist/perform the Property Book operations in the area of inventory and storage management, and equipment coordination. Ensure the property book sections periodically perform a visual inventory of all items. Maintain property book accountability utilizing an automated or manual supply accounting system. Analyze supply transaction and provide customer service for urgent critical shortage items and items requiring special handling when established procedures are not applicable. Within funding limitations determine stock replenishment levels for centrally controlled items. Assure that supplies and money are not wasted through excess accumulation. Establish procedure for management of calibration, testing of TMDE, and monitor stool room operations, to include accounting for, issuing and replacing tools. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-3 through E-7 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. ???????
