You will serve as a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR in the N32 AIRFIELD OPERATIONS of NAS WHIDBEY ISLAND SRCH/RESCUE.

Duties

You will remove and replace electrical components, assemblies, and wiring on aircraft to maintain operational working condition. You will perform operational checks to maintain the safety of aircraft. You will administer on-the-job training to instruct junior employees on aircraft maintenance practices, technical aspects of new or modified systems and components, and safety procedures. You will Monitor aircraft work to ensure compliance with goals, priorities, and established timeframes.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is:1) Providing assistance in maintenance and/or repair on aircrafts such as helicopters; 2) Utilizing common hand tools and special aircraft related equipment (i.e. pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, tensiometers, torque wrenches, multimeters, volumeters, wire strippers, soldering equipment, blade trackers, and vibration analyzers) to perform maintenance and repair duties; and 3) Following detailed procedures that specify task sequences, tolerances, etc. to perform repairs.
