Duties

At the full performance level, WG-06 you will receive fuel by tanker truck, pipeline, or ship. At the full performance level, WG-06 you will reading meters, take samples, and temperature readings. At the full performance level, WG-06 you will perform operator maintenance of fuel distribution system equipment. You will assist with fueling and de-fueling tanker trucks, fueling aircraft or navy combatant ships. You will help use various fittings and adapters to provide mechanical connections to prevent spills and/or loss of product.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Forklift Operator License.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain proper licensing (CDL A, B, OR C if required) as well as government operator permit with HAZMAT certification if required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position may be coded as “key” and as such you may be required be removed from military recall status. A signed statement of understanding is required.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position requires the ability to climb, stoop, lift, pull, and withstand heavy exertion; have good vision in both eyes correctable to 20/20; work requires close visual attention and normal color vision
  • This position requires the ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective clothing such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, high visibility clothing, etc.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible .The Screen-out Element for the WG-04 is: the ability to do the work of a a Fuel Distribution Systems Operator demonstrated through experience, working under close supervision, performing simple tasks, including manual labor, and following directions to develop your skills through a training program. The Screen-out Element for the WG-05 is: the ability to do the work of a a Fuel Distribution Systems Operator demonstrated through experience, working under close supervision, performing simple tasks, including manual labor, and following directions to develop your skills through a training program. Assists with recording fuel transfers and applies seals to tank trucks. Use material handling or forklift equipment. Helps senior workers with receiving, issuing and discharging cargo.
