This position is located in the Central Medical Supply (CMS) areas of the Supply Chain Service at the Wyoming Community Based Outpatient Clinic in the VA Medical Center in Wyoming, MI. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that supplies and materials are distributed to all areas serviced by Supply Chain Management.
Duties

Major Duties:
SUPPLY DISTRIBUTION 70%
Maintain stock at primary and secondary inventory locations for all clinical and administrative services
Monitor expiration dates, and rotate stock to limit out dates
Perform daily inventory of primary and secondary inventory points using bar coding equipment
Distribute items and deliver supplies, ensuring supplies and material are in sterile and operational conditions
Complete specialty cart preparation and stocking
Clean assigned secondary areas (shelves and bins) in accordance with aseptic principles in infection control guidelines
INVENTOY CONTROL 30%
Receive supplies and material in the VA Health Care System
Unpack/uncrate supplies from shipping cartons
Store supplies in main/primary inventory areas
Utilize a computerized inventory system to ensure sterility and integrity of the supplies and materials
Return reusable supplies to the distribution areas and inform clinical personnel
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday - 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: Possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower level of Federal service. Qualifying specialized experience includes providing supplies and material to clinical and/or administrative areas of a facility; scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing and distributing supplies, instruments and other material; pulling stock, replenishing stock and maintaining records on stock levels; monitoring expiration dates; cleaning assigned areas in accordance with regulations and policy; utilizing an automated system to maintain inventory; and answers customer questions regarding supplies and materials.

EDUCATION: Possess successfully completed 4 years above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. If you are qualifying on education, transcripts are required.

COMBINATION AND EXPERIENCE: Possess an equivalent combination of specialized experience and post high school education as described above that demonstrates my ability to perform the duties of this position. For the GS-05, only education in excess of 60 semester hours (2 years) is creditable. If you qualify by a combination, your experience must be detailed in your resume and transcripts are required.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work requires standing and walking during the entire workday, and frequent reaching, bending and lifting of supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds). Work requires pushing loaded carts of medical supplies (weighing in excess of 100+ pounds). With proper assistance, moves heavier items' weighing over 40 pounds.
